E-bike with Bosch mid-engine
Bosch e-bike technology guarantees high-quality and reliable pedal assistance for your e-bike. The Bosch system offers you optimal and controlled support and therefore of course a lot of cycling pleasure.
Why an e-bike with a Bosch mid-engine?
The Bosch mid-engine is now used by the vast majority of manufacturers for their e-bikes. KOGA also opts for Bosch because this system has more than proven itself in terms of reliability and performance.
In addition, the Bosch mid-engine is very quiet, making it indispensable for the current generation of e-bikes. The motor is located in the middle of the bike for optimal balance and weight distribution.
De Bosch motors
Active line plus
This motor is ideal for rural, urban, commuting and recreational touring cycling. The motor has a maximum torque of 50 Nm and has a maximum support of 270% of the power supplied by the rider. The maximum speed of a bicycle with this motor is 25 km/h.
Performance line
If your e-bike contains this Bosch performance line gen 3 motor, it is ideal for use outside the city and the powerful motor makes it perfect for use in hilly countryside. This motor is so powerful because it supports up to 300% and has a force of 65 NM. The maximum speed of a bicycle with this motor is 25 km/h.
Performance line gen 4
The Performance line gen 4 is the 4th generation of Bosch's performance line. This is the most powerful engine of its generation, with a torque of 75Nm it can support up to 340%. The maximum speed of a bicycle with this motor is 45 km/h. Therefore, this is the motor used on our Speed pedelecs.
Bes 3 performance line CX
This engine has a maximum torque of 85 Nm, making this engine ideal not only for the road, but also off-road and uphill. This is an ideal motor for sporty, fast e-bikes. The maximum speed of a bicycle with this motor is 25 km/h.

De Bosch battery and range
Our KOGA E-bikes with Bosch technology are equipped with a high-quality battery with a capacity of 300, 400, 500, 625 or 750Wh. In general it can be said: the higher the number of Watt hours (“tank capacity”), the greater the range. Some e-bikes can even be equipped with a double battery.
Depending on factors
However, the range also depends on factors such as the selected support mode, riding conditions, outside temperature, engine efficiency, tire pressure, rider weight/load and gear use. Bosch has a handy tool to calculate your range. View the range tool here.
The position of the battery may differ per bicycle model. We have electric bicycles where the battery is integrated in the front part of the bicycle frame. Because the battery is integrated, it creates a sleek appearance. We call this the Powertube.
The battery position can also be on the back of this bike. Then the battery is semi-integrated in the luggage carrier. Because the battery is located in this place, the balance of the e-bike can feel less pleasant. If panniers with contents are also attached, the weight will mainly lie on the back of the e-bike. With a mid-engine, the weight distribution on the e-bike is a lot better.
Another option is that the battery can be found in the middle of the frame parallel to the seat tube (i.e. vertically). We have therefore equipped this bicycle, the KOGA Vectro, with a tiltable saddle, so that changing the battery is easy. We have not equipped these electric bicycles with a Bosch drive, but with a Shimano drive.
The display
For many of our electric bikes, we have chosen the Kiox 300 display. It is the perfect smart display for sporty rides. Like its predecessor, Kiox can be linked to the app. This has several advantages. One is that it has a navigation system on it, so during the rides you take, your fitness data, such as pedalling frequency, power output and calorie consumption are stored. This also goes in cooperation with Strava and Apple health, if you would like. This makes the Kiox 300 system ideal for the modern e-bike.
We not only use the Kiox and the Kiox 300 display for our bicycles with the Bosch motor, but also the Intuvia display. This is readable in all weather and light conditions and it is also possible to disconnect it from the e-bike, so that you can store the display.
You also have a gear shift advice so that you always cycle in the right gear. In short, with the Intuvia display you always have your driving data clearly visible.
