Alee Denham - The Americas (Episode 3)

Sometimes the roads don't really cooperate here… The gravel roads sometimes turn into deep dirt roads.

You would think that driving on mountain trails, crystal clear lakes and endless views would never be boring, but I decided to completely adapt my route and through the arid regions of Argentina. You would think cycling hundreds of miles without meeting a tree would bore me, but I love it. My head is completely empty and I focus on the little things in life.

The morning did not go so smoothly. Both my front and rear tires turned out to be flat. After fixing this problem, my ride continued and I ran into Estebán. After a short look back at our meeting at 'Warm Showers'. This is a 'family of cyclists' who help each other by, for example, offering shelter during the ride.

Get back on the bike and continue the ride. in the drought. You would think I would get bored, but luckily I have a creative brain and I know how to come up with fun games for myself.

Although one of my previous nights did not go well with a leaking air mattress, this evening was a completely different story. I found a new four-legged friend to accompany me for the evening. After playing for a while it was time to continue and I end up in a small village. I did not like the visit of the police, as they asked for my documents. Despite showing my passport, I ended up at the police station… But instead of being arrested, I was able to spend the night in the country estate of the police station.

The difference with Patagonia is obvious. Where in Patagonia it was mainly about nature, here it is about the people who make this a great place. Every day I received an offer to stay for dinner or overnight (with accompanying fantastic stories). This is what I do it all for.
