2010: Koga TeeTee frameset - Eurobike Award
After around a year of development and tests, Koga launched a highly specialist frame for professional time-trial and triathlon use. The innovative, distinctive time-trial design is the result of a collaboration between Netherlands cycle manufacturer Koga and its French sister company Lapierre. Both belong to the Dutch Accell Group. The development departments of both brands pooled their expertise and experience for this complex frame: ultra-light (1250 g), uncompromisingly stiff, super-aerodynamic, optimally proportioned to convert energy into speed, and also to conform to the strict UCI rules. The sleek aero design was drawn up by Koga and optimised in wind tunnel tests. Extensive performance tests with the Skil-Shimano Team ensured that the geometry was optimised too.

In the “Summer Hardware” category, the Koga Bergmönch won a BrandNew Award. The ‘Bergmönch’ is a system solution. It consists of a rucksack and a downhill bike. Uphill, it’s transported on your back. Once you’ve reached the top, it can be re-assembled in just two minutes, making it a gearless off-road bike, which can be ridden either standing or kneeling on the rucksack. Great for descending without stress on the knees, and with a huge ‘fun-factor’.

The Rayo bicycle front light is the result of a collaboration between Koga and Busch&Müller. Our goal was to develop a front light which would also work with a handlebar bag and also would form a better unity with the bike. The two housing parts of the lamp together with the mudguard to which it connects form a strong sandwich construction. This made the Rayo to excel in strength and durability tests. A new extremely powerful LED and reflector technology, IQ-TEC, allowed us to combine lamp and reflector on a very small surface, while still achieving illumination of 33 lux. This is more than three times stronger than obliged by the German StVZO.
